On April 17, 2026, in Antalya, Elmedin Konaković, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, met with Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Minister Konaković informed the interlocutor about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighting progress made on the country's journey toward European Union membership, which he emphasized as a strategic goal.
Minister Dar acknowledged the sincere and friendly relations between Pakistan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressing Pakistan’s strong support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also briefed Minister Konaković on the ongoing dynamics of peace negotiations aimed at ending the war in Iran, noting that a new round of discussions is set to take place in Islamabad. Dar expressed cautious optimism regarding the possibility of achieving lasting peace and enhancing regional security.
The interlocutors identified opportunities to expand cooperation in political, economic, and educational fields. They discussed potential partnerships in university programs and scholarships, as well as successful collaboration in defence and the military industry. Additionally, they pointed out the potential to increase cooperation across sectors, including food production, metallurgy, the automotive industry, and the wood industry. They emphasized the importance of expanding the legal framework as a crucial prerequisite for further enhancing relations between the two countries.
