Minister Elmedin Konaković paid tribute to Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić by laying flowers on his grave in honour of the 31st anniversary of his death.

Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, visited the grave of Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić alongside his wife and daughter to commemorate this occasion.

It was highlighted that Dr. Irfan Ljubijankić is one of the most significant figures in the political and diplomatic history of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war years. His name is permanently linked to the struggle for international recognition and the preservation of Bosnia and Herzegovina during one of the most challenging periods in its history.

As the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ljubijankić played a crucial role in international efforts to affirm and recognize Bosnia and Herzegovina. He represented the state’s interests before the international community at a time when its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and right to existence were being defended. Dr. Ljubijankić advocated for a modern, integrated, and civic Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded on the equal rights, freedoms, and dignity of all its citizens, regardless of their national or religious affiliation.

Minister Konaković emphasized that Dr. Ljubijankić's work and the values he stood for continue inspiring the commitment to building a democratic, European, and multiethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina.
